Today was your 8 week check-up. Your grandparents, dad, and myself have been dying to know what you weigh and how long you are - it seems to us that you are twice the size you were when we brought you home from the hospital. It's hard to believe you are still such a tiny thing. Today you weighed 10lbs 2oz and measured 23 inches long. The doctor said that you looked perfect and that you were going to be tall like your parents - 80th percentile in height.
But if I'm being honest I have been dreading this day since your last check-up. I have heard horror stories from friends about this first round of shots. Most just said that they dreaded it for me because their baby or babies screamed in pain for hours after the appt. I guess I shouldn't be surprised that you left us all in disbelief with how wonderful you did. They gave you THREE shots. You whined a little and got mad for a second after they finished but you never cried. I cried. But you never did. We walked out of that doctor's office with super baby. Your dad and I were so very proud of you and he kept saying "It doesn't surprise me at all. She's tough as nails." And it seems that you are. ALl I got were a few pictures of you after your shots and a few pictures of you with your adoring grandmother.
