You decided that Sunday April 27th was the perfect day to make your grand entrance into the world. I began having contractions that morning around 7:30 while your dad was in Starkville trying to finish up his assignments for the semester. After I felt about four pretty strong contractions I called him to tell him to wrap up what he was working on - he said he put down his cereal and kicked it into high gear. The contractions were about twenty minutes apart, but quickly jumped to ten minutes. Since your dad was not here, your grandmother coached me through the contractions like a pro. She even put pictures of you from your sonogram in front of me so I could see you and keep in mind the precious gift that was coming. I called a nurse at Womans, who told me to call back when the contractions were closer together, which only took about an hour. When we called to tell her that I had experienced two in a row she told us to come on in to the hospital.
After the nurse got us settled in the room.
My dad was all smiles and found a good place to sit... and maybe snooze
We called your sweet Uncle Max to ask him to bring me a handheld fan. He brought me two; one he found and bought and one he engineered out of a desk fan, a scrub brush, and some stickers.
Just a few contractions in the hospital before the anesthesiologist came in and gave me that wonderful epidural
The most precious expectant grandparents in the entire world
